The second leading women’s race in France!

La Rochambelle is an event that is now emblematic of les Courants de la Liberté and is a privileged moment of this festive weekend. By competing in the event, women show their commitment towards fighting breast cancer, as 60% of the proceeds from entry fees are donated to the fight against this disease.

In 2011, thanks to the participation of more than 14,000 women, most of 80, 000 euros were donated in this way to two local associations: Mathilde and Etincelle Basse-Normandie.

The origin of “La Rochambelle”: the name “La Rochambelle” comes from a health unit that was created and equipped by the Americans during the Second World War. Les Rochambelles were the nurses and ambulance women who belonged to the 2nd Armoured Division of General Leclerc.
